So this weekend I packed my kids up and we headed to Orlando where my family lives. On the way there, a few times on overpasses above I4 I saw people waving the American flag and holding up signs asking them to Impeach Obama. It reminded me that during Bike Week I saw people doing the same thing on the pedestrian bridge in Daytona.
Regardless of how I feel and what my political choices are, those people annoy me! I see it all the time, and not with people just protesting political things. People try to push their faith on others like this. I recently had a friend tell me their teenager daughter was on the beach with her friends in a two piece (modest one) swimsuit and some people came by with picket signs for their faith and started yelling at those teenagers (who were all good Christian kids!). I believe those people mean well, and think they are doing a good thing, but I think they actually bring more harm then good.
Its the same with all the "God" paraphernalia. Don't get me wrong, Ive seen some great "God Billboards" and some pretty rocking Christian T-Shirts, nothing wrong with them, but I dont think they ever actually bring people to God. Ive never heard anyone giving their testimony and say "I saw this T-Shirt or this billboard and it just spoke to me."
Here is the thing, if we could take our time and our money and use that to help those around us and show them love, how much more would our witness, our opinions, our beliefs stand out? So many people in your own neighborhood just need someone to sit and talk to. Someone to just show them a little love. When we spread kindness, you will be amazed at how people notice and want to hear your opinion on life!
