Movie Review: The Single Mom's Club

RATING:  4 out of 5 palm trees

So if you did not know, I am a HUGE Tyler Perry fan!  I have seen almost all of his movies.   So when I heard he was putting a movie out that was about single mom's, I was pretty excited.

I went to see it tonight (for those who don't know, in Volusia County movies are only $6 on Tuesday nights!).  First of all, I found it kind of funny that there were a lot of single ladies in there watching it alone.    I know I shouldn't be surprised by that (I go to the movies alone often), but it was a movie about a group of single moms sticking together, I kind of hoped to see lots of groups of single mom friends all going together!

The movie is about a group of 5 women from different walks of lives, different races, and different reasons find them on the path to single mommyhood.  I found it ironic in some way, I could relate to each character!   The plot is how these women all work together to help each other out and offer support!   I laughed, I cried, and I laughed some more.   It really was a movie that celebrated the single moms out there.

One scene stuck out to me, there were two single moms together.  One from a very privileged lifestyle and one from a very poor lifestyle.  The wealthier mom asked the other mom how she does it all, her response stuck out to me.  "You cant think about it, you just gotta do it"   I love that!   Far too often I get overwhelmed and weighed down with worry about how this will all play out for me.    Stop thinking and just jump in and do life!   As all Tyler Perry movies do, it had some very inspirational scenes!   I highly recommend you see it, especially if you are on the same path I am!

It got me thinking, I want to start dedicating part of my blog to stories of inspirational single moms (or dads!).  If you are one, or know someone who is, send me your story!  Id like to post a new story each week........  Lets Start SINGLE MOM MONDAYS!
