Little Miss Sunshine returns

When I was a kid, I used to love to get Roger Hargreaves books from my church library.  I remember even seeing a few cartoons based on the books!  Over the years I have gotten a lot of nicknames and pet names (even as a kid I loved having those!  Haha) but one of my favorites, that has seemed to slowly pop back up with friends was 'Little Miss Sunshine'.   I instantly smile when anyone even calls me sunshine.

The story is about a girl names 'Little Miss Sunshine' who goes on a drive and ends up at Misery Land.   Little Miss Sunshine is ever the positive little girl and thinks she has never been there, maybe shell find somewhere new to eat lunch.  She goes on to find out this new land, is well, miserable (it is good she is so happy and positive, but she needs to meet Mr. Wisdom I think!).   There you are not aloud to smile or laugh or even chuckle!   So she met the King who was crying in his misery and she told him he had to choose (KEY WORD THERE FRIENDS!) to be happy.   Through her smiling and laughter, she brought sunshine to Misery Land which then turned to Laughter Land (my favorite place to be!).

I started thinking, what ever happened to me being Little Miss Sunshine?  It was still in me and I still had the ability to find a silver lining in almost any situation (it can be annoying sometimes, I know, haha).  I got stuck in Misery Land.   I allowed (another key word) the people and the sights of that town to block out my sunshine!  I made the decision Little Miss Sunshine was gonna return!   I was doing pretty good and even some new friends were seeing the sunshine in me again!  YEA!!   But then, a great wind came and blew me back into Misery Land, but only temporary.  (For those who met me during that time or experienced Miss Cloudy, Miss Whiney, Miss Anxiety, or Miss Crazy...Im sorry.  It was a temporary mask, its gone now.)

Here is the thing, I want Little Miss Sunshine to stay for good!  I want to be the person who brings joy and laughter to others!  I want to be the person who always sees the silver lining to things!    There are gonna be times when the storms come and clouds try to block out my sunshine (and it may happen on occasion, I am not anywhere close to being Little Miss Perfect!).  Even if I have to fake laugh myself into real laughter (Seriously, try it right now, give yourself your best fake laugh and watch it turn real!) I am gonna keep Little Miss Sunshine around.  She is kind of my favorite!  Who are you gonna decide to be????
